You are able to do this if you do the necessary prep. You must sand the top layer completely off of the old laminate which removes the melamine plastic top layer and allows contact adhesive to grab the kraft paper underneath. This is a laborious task and has to be done properly and thoroughly to work well. You are able to go directly over existing laminate with new laminate if the adhesive used is double sided tape, however, with no prep. But this can be costly. Wilsonart offers a product called "RE-COVER" where they put 3M double sided tape completely on the back of vertical grade laminate and they sell it ready to peel and stick. But they do not offer a version in postforming grade. I hope this information helps.
